What the Golden Thread actually requires

The Building Safety Act 2022 expects information about a higher-risk building to be accurate, up to date, held digitally and handed on. In practice that means someone must be able to show, years later, what was found, what was installed, who signed it off and when. Remediation work destroys the evidence as it progresses: once the cladding is off and the new system is on, the only record of the original condition is the one you captured at the time.
